About Our Opportunity:

MedeAnalytics is seeking an experienced Principal of Payer Strategic Consulting, to join our consulting team, reporting to the SVP & Managing Director of Strategic Consulting. This role is critical to expanding our consulting services working with commercial and Medicare payers nationwide while driving multi-million-dollar annual consulting revenue.

Our ideal candidate has extensive consulting experience with healthcare payers, a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, and a proven ability to sell consultative services. They possess a strong network of C-suite and key decision-makers and have a track record of leveraging consulting services to drive expansion opportunities, manage cross-functional initiatives, and execute successful engagements. Additionally, they demonstrate established thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, or industry contributions and have implemented proven strategies to improve MLR, manage risk, enhance RAF scores, elevate STARS ratings, and optimize overall plan performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and execute the consulting division's strategic plans and ensure alignment with the company's overall business strategy.
  • Lead consulting sales within all payers in the United States.
  • Manage an assigned multi-million-dollar annual sales and revenue retention quota, ensuring that revenue targets are met or exceeded while controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Provide strong leadership across the consulting team, setting objectives and performance standards and encouraging continuous professional growth.
  • Lead consulting sales pursuits, writing, gathering and collaborating on market and sales materials.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and VP of product payer sales to develop scalable and sustainable consulting solutions that drive client value and incremental revenue.
  • Partner with the product and data science team(s) to incorporate feedback, evaluate, and advise on product enhancements across the MedeAnalytics portfolio, ensuring that consulting insights contribute to product development.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, leveraging consulting services to identify expansion opportunities, optimize cross-consulting potential, and drive successful engagements.
  • Drive and promote thought leadership at MedeAnalytics, fostering innovation and strategic insights that solidify the company's standing as a leader in healthcare analytics.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the healthcare consulting industry, adjusting strategies and operations to maintain a competitive edge.

Education, Experience, and Required Qualifications:  

  • 8+ years of consulting experience in the healthcare payer landscape, preferably at the VP and/or C-suite level within a large payer organization or top-tier consulting firm.
  • Proven success managing a multi-million-dollar new business quota and client retention goals.
  • Deep knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and value-based care models, with a strong ability to sell consultative services.
  • Expertise in scaling consulting services within a SaaS-based healthcare model, driving revenue growth.
  • Track record of delivering >$4M in ARR, with 50%+ YoY growth in a SaaS and services-driven healthcare company.
  • Leadership experience in building, expanding, and mentoring consulting teams.
  • Strong sales acumen, leading the full sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Ability to influence decision-making through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a passion for revenue growth and business success.
  • Deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models.
  • Inspiring leadership style with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.

Additional Information:

MedeAnalytics believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 USD + commission opportunities. Commission is tied to total Payer vertical bookings, offering a generous incentive structure that rewards your contribution to overall growth. Please note that actual compensation for all roles may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, relevant work experience, professional achievements/qualifications, skill level, business need, location and will be finalized at the time of offer.
